Outdoor Rec Celebration Hosted today at Viking Ship Park

MOORHEAD, M.N. (KVRR)-

It was perfect weather for an outdoor rec celebration at Viking Ship Park in Moorhead.

Hosted by Midwest Outdoors, this event included a camp setup competition, a 5k, food and games.

Local outdoor groups were also there to answer questions from the public about the outdoors.

This event was held to celebrate the outdoor recreational activities scene in the metro.

This celebration occurred to celebrate the outdoor recreational activities scene in the Moorhead Fargo area.

Co-Founder of Midwest Outdoors, Lauren Wilson, said “We just want to celebrate all the opportunities we have for outdoor opportunities in the Fargo Moorhead area.We have so much more than people expect.”

She also said, “ Today we have the north country trail association here, Detroit mountain is here, the FM trailbuilders are here all talking about what they love about outdoor recreation, and just getting excited. Obviously its a beautiful day you can still be doing tons of outdoor recreation right now”

This celebration also included a free raffle with the main prize being a weekend in a large sleepaway van.
